MVUS August 9, 1998 Picnic and Antenna Measurements
Hello to all those who do have web access and well, those who don't are going to miss some of the fun. Which is what I had that hot Sunday afternoon in August. It was another typical hot summer day in the Miami Valley, except at Daun and Karen's house. Earlier the weather looked like it wasn't going to cooperate, but it cleared up and we had our picnic and our antenna measurements. At last count we had over 20 + antennas to measure. From 144Mhz up to 10 Ghz. Thanks to Chef Bob, we had excellent hamburgers and dogs (sorry Tom, you lost your job). I had my camcorder that I was using earlier at the scout camp, and I had an extra tape, so I recorded some of the happenings. I tried to use my video capture program, but unfortunately, I have only a few photos for you to look at. Those who missed the picnic really missed a good one. No hamburgers left over and almost all other goodies were gone. (Luv the deserts). Great afternoon! Hope to see you all at next years.

As you can see, there is a faint hint of blue around the edges and also Gerd's truck. This is my video capture program and not your eyes. No this is not really an antenna, it is a hugh drill for a door knob (looks a little like one, eh?)
I just can't quite make out what, if anything, is he sitting on? Well, looks like one of those home made radar guns, courtesy of Maxwell House.
